On or near our ranch, we enjoy some of the finest wildlife watching in Montana or even the Rocky Mountains. Many of our guests remark that the wildlife viewing opportunities rival those found in Yellowstone Park except they don't have to share the sights with so many folks.
Whether we travel through the mountains horseback riding, hiking, or riding in 4 wheel drives, we often see a variety of wildlife from large to small. In the evenings after supper, guests can join us on 4 wheel drive tours where we try to see some of the more nocturnal animals.
For those who wish to go on wildlife photo safaris, we'll spend the extra time to try to get close to the animals for undisturbed photo opportunities. Early June provides the best chance to see a wide variety of the baby wild animals. Winter offers the best chance to see huge numbers of elk and deer.
